The 72-year-old Hanalei woman who was missing since going on a hike Saturday evening was found alive this morning, authorities say.

Kauai County spokewoman Sarah Blane says Pamela Wilcox Dohrman was found Monday and is walking out of Kokee State Park.

Search personnel found the Hanalei woman at about 11:30 a.m. off the Kaluapuhi Trail in "good condition, but dehydrated."

Rescuers plan to accompany her back to the trailhead.

Dohrman was reported missing Saturday after she didn’t return from hiking. Family members told officials she left her Kokee cabin that afternoon.

More than three dozen search personnel, including Kauai Fire Department’s helicopter, were combing the area around Waininiua Trail, Berry Flats, Kumuwela Road, and Kumuwela Trail on Sunday and continued their search this morning.  Up to 60 volunteers, including her family, helped with the search.

The county planned to use a helicopter in Monday’s search but wasn’t able to because of inclement weather. Volunteers split up into groups and covered the trails on foot, and one team found her off the Kaluapuhi Trail at around 11:30 a.m.

The trail is described as one of the flattest trails on the island and as an easy hike. The trail is 2.5 miles roundtrip. It passes through a moist forest where several native forest birds can be found, according to the park’s website. It was not clear which trail she set out to hike Saturday.
