Crews repair Alewa Heights water main; road reopened

The Board of Water Supply has restored service to the Alewa Heights area after completing repairs on an 8-inch water main.
The break occurred at about midnight at 919 Alewa Dr. Repairs were completed at 10 a.m. to the pipe and the road was fixed and reopened by 1:45 p.m.
The water main break occurred in front of the Academy of the Pacific, canceling classes and postponing an athletic banquet until Thursday, school officials said. Approximately 33 homes were also without water, board officials said.
