Police have released a photo and the name of a woman wanted in connection with the shooting of 43-year-old woman in Makaha on Monday.

Police are seeking the public’s help in locating May Iwa Brewer, 32, who is wanted for second-degree attempted murder. She is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall with brown eyes.

Police said that at 4:43 p.m., the suspect approached a 43-year-old woman who was sitting in her car on Farrington Highway near Keaau Beach Park.

Brewer allegedly brandished a handgun, demanded money and struggled for the victim’s property.

During the struggle, the handgun discharged and the victim was struck. Brewer fled in a vehicle operated by an unknown male.

The victim was taken to a hospital in serious condition with a gunshot wound to her head.
