Clay to speak at Hall of Honor banquet
Olympic gold medalist Bryan Clay will be the keynote speaker at a banquet honoring this year’s class of inductees to the Enterprise Rent-A-Car/HHSAA Hall of Honor. The Hall of Honor banquet is set for June 9 at the Sheraton Waikiki.
Clay was named to the Hall of Honor in 1998, following a record-breaking track-and-field career at Castle. He went on to win a silver medal in the decathlon in the 2004 Olympic Games and earned gold —and the accompanying title of "world’s greatest athlete" — in 2008 in Beijing.
Joining Clay in the hall as part of the 2013 class are Raion Black (Christian Academy), Keelan Ewaliko (Baldwin), Michael Fisher (HBA), Kawe Johnson (Kahuku), Shaun Kagawa (Kamehameha-Hawaii), Carly Kan (Punahou), Alex Masaquel (‘Iolani), Dane Pestano (Kamehameha), Bree Rapoza (Kamehameha), Renny Richmond (Seabury Hall), Isaac Savaiinaea (Punahou) and Aofaga Wily (Kahuku).
Each inductee will receive a $2,000 scholarship from Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

Weather stops Rainbow Wahine sailors
Due to a lack of wind, no races were held during the second day of competition at the ICSA Women’s National Championship sailing semifinals in St. Petersburg, Fla.
With enough qualifying races completed on the first day, the semifinals were ruled completed.
As a result, Hawaii lost in its bid to qualify for a spot in the finals. The Rainbow Wahine were in 12th place after the first day and were trying to move up to ninth place before the cancellation of the second day.
