Kailua man charged in Memorial Day shooting case

A 42-year-old Kailua man was being held on $500,000 bail on charges of second-degree attempted murder, drug and firearms offenses in connection with a Memorial Day shooting.

Jon F. Rapozo allegedly shot at a 25-year-old man early Monday morning on Iana Street in Kailua.

Officers arrested Rapozo Wednesday morning near Castle Medical Center.

Rapozo has a lengthy criminal record that include convictions of first-degree burglary and assault against a law enforcement officer.
