Hawaii County police seek sex assault suspect
Hawaii island police are looking for a male suspect who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in Kona.
At about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, police said the woman was walking on Loloku Street in the old industrial area of Kailua-Kona when an unknown man allegedly grabbed her from behind. The suspect punched her and dragged her off the north shoulder of the road near a car dealership and sexually assaulted her.
He then fled in mauka direction of the street. The suspect is described as a male in his 30s, about 5 foot 7 inches tall and about 200 pounds. He is also said to have medium-length wavy dark hair. Police said the man is possibly homeless.
