A brush fire and a gravel spill prompted lane closures on two major Oahu roads Wednesday.
Police closed the right northbound lane of the H-2 freeway about noon because of firetrucks parked there to fight a brush fire in a gulch near Mililani Memorial Park Road. The fire burned 1 to 2 acres before firefighters brought it under control at 12:24 p.m. Police reopened the H-2 lane at about 1:30 p.m.
The westbound lanes of Moanalua freeway near Aloha Stadium were closed from 3:10 to 5:30 p.m. because of a gravel spill.
Traffic was diverted onto the Pearl Ridge/Aiea off-ramp while crews cleared the roadway.
