Obama: Make climate change a must for your vote

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is urging Americans to rally support for his plan to combat climate change.

In his weekly radio and Internet address, Obama says Americans are already paying the price for climate change. He says America will be judged by how it responds.

Obama’s national plan involves limiting power plant pollution, preparing communities for warmer temperatures and leading other nations in the effort.

Obama is asking Americans to teach their family, friends and classmates about climate change. He says Americans should warn elected officials they won’t vote for anyone who doesn’t protect future generations. He says a sound environment and a strong economy aren’t mutually exclusive.

In the Republican address, Sen. Pat Roberts of Kansas says there are troubling, unanswered questions about the implementation of Obama’s health care law.
