Jasper selected as Big West representative
University of Hawaii softball player Jori Jasper has been appointed the Big West Conference’s representative to the NCAA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
Jasper, an incoming senior with the Rainbow Wahine, was selected from among six candidates to the post and will serve a two-year term on the 31-member national committee.
Jasper served as UH’s SAAC chairperson last year and was the school’s representative to the Big West. She’s the second UH athlete selected to the national committee, following swimmer Jessica Stacy (2011-12).
National committee members serve as liaisons between their conferences and the NCAA Leadership Council. They provide input on rules, regulations and policies that affect student-athletes.
Jasper will attend the NCAA’s SAAC conference in Indianapolis, July 23-25. She earned her bachelor’s degrees last fall with a triple major in entrepreneurship, marketing and international business.
