Pedestrian hit by truck dies
A 24-year-old man who was struck by pickup truck Saturday while crossing Pali Highway died at a hospital Monday.
Police said the victim, who has a Marine Corps Base Hawaii address, was crossing the Kailua-bound lanes of the highway, near the tunnels, when he was struck by the Kailua-bound truck. The truck’s driver was not injured. The victim’s identity has not been released.
Pair arrested in stabbing
Police have two men in custody and have initiated an attempted-murder investigation after a stabbing Tuesday at McKinley High School.
Emergency Medical Services said the victim was taken in serious condition to a hospital with multiple stab wounds at 2:24 a.m. Police said the victim is 43.
No motive was given for the stabbing, which occurred near the school’s administration building.
The suspects, ages 20 and 21, were arrested on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder at 2:30 a.m. The 20-year-old gave no local address. The 21-year-old gave a Kukui Gardens address.
