Hawaii and Alabama are the most honest states
The Aloha State and the Heart of Dixie have been deemed the most honest states in the U.S. by the Honest Tea beverage company.
The company devised a test, as part of a publicity stunt, to determine how honest people were when it seems no one is looking.
It set up un-staffed kiosks stocked with flavors of Honest Tea that were offered for $1, on the honor system.
Both Hawaii and Alabama scored 100 percent honesty, versus the least honest location — Wash., D.C., which scored 80 percent.
It should be mentioned that no data was presented for Arizona, Louisiana or Mississippi, as the company said it didn’t have a large enough sample size to compile an accurate rating.
Honest Tea further broke out its results into some common and very uncommon demographics, such as men’s honesty versus women’s, but also comparing people with short hair and long hair as well as by hair color. The full results can be found online.
