Maui Electric crews worked through the night and today to restore power to all but about 150 customers in small pockets in Kula, Haiku, Makawao, Wailuku and Kahului, where transformer damage or downed power lines exist.

At one point, 9,800 customers were without power on Maui.

Maui Electric crews also worked in Hana to repair five poles and electrical lines that were brought down Monday during the height of Tropical Storm Flossie.  Approximately 900 customers lost power in the area.

The outages were reported after heavy rains and thunderstorms were reported in those areas.
