McCully traffic stop leads to arrest of suspected burglar

A patrol officer pulled over a 30-year-old Salt Lake man for a traffic violation early Thursday morning in McCully and ended up arresting the man for a burglary that occurred two months ago.

Police said the traffic stop occurred at 2 a.m. on South King street. 

A records check revealed that the suspect was wanted in connection with a June 28 burglary. The suspect also had a loaded gun in his car.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of first-degree burglary and four firearms violation.
