Power is back on for all Maui residents
Maui Electric Co. has restored power to all customers in Maui County, according to a MECO statement issued Wednesday morning.
At midday Tuesday, the company reported that crews had worked through Monday night and Tuesday morning to restore power to all but about 150 customers in small pockets in Kula, Haiku, Makawao, Wailuku and Kahului, where transformer damage or downed power lines existed.
At one point while Tropical Depression Flossie was crossing the county area, 9,800 customers were without power on Maui.
Maui Electric crews also worked in Hana to repair five poles and electrical lines that were brought down Monday during the height of Flossie’s heavy rain and thunderstorms. About 900 customers lost power in the area.
