Boy, 16, arrested in 2 Waipahu robberies
Police arrested a 16-year-old boy for a pair of alleged robberies in Waipahu on Friday morning.
According to police, the boy entered a Waipahu financial institution about 9:25 a.m., displayed a dangerous weapon and demanded money. He fled the institution with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Just after 10 a.m., the boy allegedly entered a Waipahu retail establishment and again demanded money while displaying the dangerous instrument. He fled without taking anything.
Police located the suspect about a half hour later and arrested him on suspicion of two counts of first-degree robbery.
