Two hippos fight in Virunga National Park, Democratic Republic of Congo. Africa's oldest national park could be worth $1.1 billion per year if developed sustainably rather than handed over to potentially damaging oil extraction, a report released Thursday by the World Wildlife Fund has found. The park could generate 45,000 jobs through investments in hydropower, fisheries and ecotourism, according to the analysis.
