The 48-year homeless man, who is accused stabbing and killing another homeless man in Kailua last month, entered a plea of not guilty this morning in Circuit Court.
Brian Kim’s is scheduled for the week of Oct. 7 before Circuit Judge Randal Lee
Kim was charged with second-degree murder after a witness told police that he saw the suspect lunge toward the victim and that he "appeared to be punching him."
Circuit Judge Richard Perkins continued bail of $250,000 for Kim, who remains in custody at Oahu Community Correctional Center.
Kim is accused of stabbing to death Robert Coleman, Jr. July 12 at Kailua District Park, police said.
The witness quoted the victim as saying, "He stabbed me," according to a police statement.
The two men had spent the night near the gym and pool area of the park.
Kailua residents held two meetings at the park not far from where Coleman was killed and established a neighborhood security watch program.
