First Tee of Hawaii and the Aloha Section PGA are teaming for a three-day fundraiser next month. The $20,000 First Tee of Hawaii Match Play Shootout starts Sept. 9 at Hoakalei Country Club, with a Casino Night/Pro-Am draw party at Dave & Busters the next night and a Pro-Am Sept. 11.
The first round of the Shootout is a Monday morning qualifier, with the top 32 professionals advancing to match play. The opening round is that afternoon, with two more rounds Sept. 10. The final four golfers play off at noon Sept. 11, with the Pro-Am — anchored by the 28 remaining pros — teeing off at 12:15 p.m.
The Shootout winner collects $7,000.
Entry deadline is Sept. 2 for pros and amateurs.
More than 800 kids participate in First Tee programs on Oahu (Bay View, Hickam, Hawaii Country Club and Hoakalei), Molokai (Ironwood) and the Big Island (Makalei and Kamehameha Golf Park).

Hawaii courses participate in Wounded Warrior Project
Three Billy Casper Golf Hawaii courses are among 110 nationwide participating in Monday’s third annual "World’s Largest Golf Outing." The Billy Casper Golf benefit raised more than $400,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project last year.
The event is open to golfers of all abilities and does not require a USGA handicap. The format is scramble or modified scramble and individuals will be paired with other golfers.
Golfers can play the Royal Ka‘anapali (Maui) or Puakea (Kauai) course for $50 by participating in the event. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., with a shotgun start at 8:30. The cost to play Bay View Golf Park in Kaneohe is $30. It has an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
All donations and $5 of each registration fee will be given to Wounded Warriors. Cost includes green and cart fees and prizes. Through Saturday, golfers can register by calling the courses or visiting worldslargestgolfouting.com.
Ko Olina hosts women’s program
Ko Olina Golf Club will be the site of "Women on Course — a Forum on Career, Life …and Golf!" The program is Sept. 20, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Speakers include Donna Orender, former WNBA president and PGA vice president, and author of "Generation W;" and former LPGA pro Suzy Whaley, one of Golf Digest’s "Best Teachers in America."
The forum also includes Sherry Menor McNamara (Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii), Meredith Ching (Alexander & Baldwin Inc.) and Kim Gennaula (Aloha United Way) from Hawaii.
Topics will include "balancing the demands of work and personal life, while educating and inspiring future professional women and at the same time having fun."
Cost is $200. Proceeds benefit the YWCA Patsy T. Mink Center for Business & Leadership.
