And the accolades just keep coming
Add one more honor for the late Sen. Daniel Inouye’s collection — the Presidential Medal of Freedom, to be awarded by President Barack Obama.
Obama recognized Inouye as a lifelong public servant, from his service as a young man fighting in World War II with the 442nd Regiment Combat Team to nearly 50 years in the U.S. Senate representing the 50th State.
Inouye’s wartime exploits won him the Medal of Honor, the nation’s highest military honor. It seems only fitting that he should also receive the nation’s highest civilian honor.
Great views best with great food
Restaurants are always looking for a marketing niche they can exploit, and a news report Thursday brought to our attention a niche that many of us might not have thought much about before: restaurants with the most scenic views.
Turns out, two Hawaii restaurants were on the Top 100 list as recorded by OpenTable.com — Sarento’s Top of the I, atop the Ilikai Hotel & Suites in Waikiki, and ‘Ulu Ocean Grill and Sushi Lounge at Four Seasons Resort Hualalai on Hawaii island.
Of course, a great view will only go so far. If restaurants with beautiful vistas want to also ensure customer loyalty, they better be serving some pretty good food as well.
