>> Fumio Kudo died Thursday at the hospital after being taken there Sunday when he was pulled out of the water at Hanauma Bay. A story on Page A22 Friday said Kudo died Thursday at the hospital but incorrectly reported that the death occurred the same day he nearly drowned.

>> Shannon Winpenny’s name was misspelled in a story teaser Thursday on Page D1.

CLARIFICATION

>> The sidewalk nuisance ordinance allows the city, without prior notice, to remove items deemed “nuisances” from city sidewalks. However, the city can opt to allow owners a specified amount of time to remove their property, and would prefer that the owner remove the property over the city having to store it. A story on Page B2 on July 2 said city officials gave homeless campers 15 minutes to remove their personal belongings, but did not make clear that notice is not mandated under the law.
