Grand jury indicts Nanakuli man in sexual assault of step-daughter
An Oahu grand jury has returned an indictment against a 35-year-old Nanakuli man on charges of that he sexually assaulted his step-daughter over an eight-year period.
Charles Inere-Hanohano was charged with four counts of second-degree sexual assault of the girl, who is now 18. He was released after posting $80,000 bail.
Police arrested Inere-Hanohano Aug. 12 and charged him that night.
Police said the alleged assaults began Jan. 27, 2005.
According to a police affidavit, the victim said the alleged attacks began when she was 10 and continued until she was 18, when she moved out of the family home.
The victim said she only was reporting the incidents now is because her younger sister is reaching the age when her step-father started to assault her.
