Elderly man critical after nearly drowning at Magic Island
An 85-year-old man nearly drowned at Magic Island and was in critical condition at 2:45 p.m. Monday, Emergency Medical Services said.
The man was swimming when he appeared to have gone underwater, EMS said.
Ocean Safety lifeguards pulled the man out and administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation before paramedics took over treatment and took him to a a hospital in critical condition, EMS said.
