Waipahu man charged in Kakaako stabbing
A 29-year-old Waipahu man has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing early Sunday morning in Kakaako.
William E. Villarreal was charged with second-degree attempted murder and disorderly conduct Monday. He posted $100,000 bail and is scheduled to enter a plea in District Court later this week.
Police said the incident occurred at about 1:40 a.m. near the Geisha House, a bar in Kakaako.
A witness observed Villarreal lunge at the victim, a 28-year-old man, who later discovered that he had been stabbed. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.
