LAS VEGAS >> A suspended UNLV basketball player will remain free without bail pending a Nov. 12 preliminary hearing on charges that that he stole expensive Nike sneakers, $500 cash and almost $900 worth of video games from a friend’s apartment.

Nineteen-year-old Savon Goodman stood with his attorney during a brief initial appearance Friday on misdemeanor conspiracy and felony burglary and grand larceny charges that could get him up to 15 years in a Nevada prison.

He and his lawyer, William Terry, later declined to comment.

Police say a resident identified Goodman as one of three people who made off with items during an overnight burglary May 18 at an apartment near the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Goodman is a sophomore from Philadelphia.
