2-year-old ‘fine’ after falling out window
A 2-year-old boy, reportedly in serious condition after falling from a second-floor window at a home on Waianae Valley Road shortly before 4 p.m. Friday, was doing "fine," homeowner Sundance Beebe said when contacted by the Star-Advertiser.
Beebe said his girlfriend’s 2-year-old nephew was visiting and fell out of the window of the residence, which he said is closed most of the time.
Beebe said the boy was taken by ambulance to a hospital and was OK.
"He’s not even crying now," Beebe said.
Crosswalk work to slow traffic near Haleakala
Drivers traveling on Hana Highway from Hana through Kipahulu might encounter brief delays Monday through Tuesday when traffic will be reduced to one lane for crosswalk painting, Haleakala National Park officials said.
Delays are expected to be no more than 15 minutes, officials said.
To improve pedestrian safety, highway traffic in the Kipahulu section of Haleakala National Park will be restricted to one lane while road crews paint pedestrian crosswalks that lead from parking lots to park trails.
