A 31-year-old Maui man remains hospitalized on Oahu after the Ford sedan he was driving crashed early Sunday morning in Kapaa, Kauai County officials said.

The accident occurred around 2 a.m. when the man’s vehicle struck a coconut tree along Aleka Loop and the car flipped onto its passenger side, pinning the man inside, officials said.
