A 51-year-old Oahu Community Correctional inmate who was mistakenly released on Friday is back behind bars.

State sheriffs located OCCC inmate Edward Robins at about 9 p.m. Sunday, a Department of Public Safety spokeswoman said.

Robins was released at 4:55 p.m. Friday, but was supposed to be released Sept. 13.

Public Safety spokeswoman Toni Schwartz said the error was due to a complication with paperwork.

Robins was serving time for third-degree assault.
