Man hurt in fall off cliff near UH-Manoa
A 20-year-old man fell down a 30- to 40-foot cliff near the Hale Aloha dorms at the University of Hawaii at Manoa early Sunday morning, according to an Emergency Medical Services report.
Paramedics responded to the Hale Aloha Ilima dorm at about 1:30 a.m. and took the victim to the hospital in serious condition.
Nuuanu resident, 24, charged with abuse
A 24-year-old Nuuanu man is facing numerous charges in connection with an incident involving a 19-year-old woman Friday in Kaneohe.
Leon Botelho was charged Sunday with unauthorized entry into a motorized vehicle, abuse of a family or household member, second-degree terroristic threatening and kidnapping. His aggregate bail was set at $102,000.
Police did not release details of the incident.
Botelho was arrested Saturday at the Kaneohe Police Station.
Aala Park assault results in charges
Police have charged a 35-year-old man for allegedly assaulting a 59-year-old man Saturday.
Police said Simion Hengio struck the victim shortly after noon at Aala Park.
Hengio, who does not have a local address, was charged Sunday with first-degree assault. His bail was set at $50,000.
Inmate released in error remains on loose
Police continue to look for a Oahu Community Correctional Center inmate who was mistakenly released a week early.
Edward Robins, 51, was serving time for third-degree assault. He was scheduled to be released Sept. 13 but was mistakenly released around 4:55 p.m. Friday.
Anyone with knowledge of Robins’ whereabouts is asked to contact the Honolulu Police Department.
