The Hawaii International Film Festival is seeking applicants for a new program offering coaching and guidance to up-and-coming writers and storytellers.

The festival said Wednesday 12 writers will be selected to participate. It’s encouraging film, television, mobile and new media writers who have a script or concept to develop to apply.

The program is being led by Los Angeles-based producer, writer and instructor Michael Andres Palmieri.

It will feature one-on-one instruction and mentoring from a team of industry professionals including Palmieri, Peter Lenkov of Hawaii Five-0 and others.

Up to three top writers will be selected to attend a weeklong career-building program in Los Angeles.

The application deadline for the Writers Accelerator program is Sept. 20. Contact HIFF at http://www.hiff.org/about-hiff/contact-hiff/.
