Hawaii surfers advance in Hurley Pro
Three Hawaii surfers — Fred Patacchia, John John Florence and Sebastian Zietz — advanced to the second round in the Hurley Pro at Lower Trestles in San Clemente, Calif., on Sunday.
Patacchia and Zietz placed second in their first-round heats, while Florence finished third.
The ASP World Championship Tour contest resumes today, surf permitting. All three go up against Brazilians. Florence meets Alejo Muniz, Zietz will surf against Raoni Monteiro and Patacchia takes on Miguel Pupo.
