The man whose dismembered body was discovered in the brush off a Waipio road on Sunday has been identified by the Medical Examiner’s Office as Alexis Gonzales.
The Medical Examiner’s Office positively identified Gonzales by his fingerprints but would not release any further information, including age or where he is from.
According to Gonzales’ Facebook page, he lived on 10th Avenue in Palolo, listed his hometown as Long Beach, Calif., and was a 1998 graduate of Downey High School.
Court records show Gonzales had a criminal conviction record and was 34.
Police are continuing to ask for the public to come forward with any information about this case but also would not divulge any information, including his age, except to identify him as Alex Gonzales.
A Waianae couple looking for cans and bottles discovered a man’s decapitated torso in a garbage bag.
Sheer Sotelo said she and her husband smelled a foul odor and looked for its source. She said after she called police, officers recovered the remaining body parts later that day.
However, police continued searching the area through the night Sunday and Monday. Police said the body parts may have been there since Thursday.
The Hawaii Criminal Justice Data Center lists Gonzales as 34 years old, weighing 195 pounds and standing 6 feet 1 inch tall.
The data center records show he was convicted in 2004 on Kauai of auto theft, a Class C felony.

In the harassment case Gonzales struck, shoved and/or otherwise touched a man with the intent to harass, annoy and/or alarm him, the criminal complaint says.
Gonzales may have been wanted by authorities. Hawaii State Judiciary data show Gonzales, also known as Alex Pirotton Gonzales, had a pending bench warrant connected with the harassment case.
He also was convicted of misdemeanor criminal property damage Sept. 25, probation violation in 2006 and drunken driving in 2003.
