Man held in alleged attempt to steal police car
An 18-year-old Kapolei man was arrested in Waikiki early Saturday morning for allegedly trying to steal a police car.
According to police, a Honolulu police officer saw the man enter the car and attempt to start it.
The incident occurred around 2:38 a.m. near the intersection of Lewers Street and Kalakaua Avenue.
The man was arrested on suspicion of unauthorized control of a motorized vehicle.
