City closing Pawaa park, sidewalk for 2-week maintenance
The city will close a city park and surrounding sidewalk in Pawaa, which is now used by the homeless as a campsite, for two weeks beginning Thursday for a maintenance project.
The city Department of Parks and Recreation will close Pawaa In-Ha Park, near South King and McCully streets, for scheduled maintenance from Thursday to Oct. 9. Tree-trimming, grass-cutting, aerating, fertilizing, and other routine maintenance will be conducted during the closure of the park.
The Department of Facility Maintenance will close the sidewalk along the mauka side of King Street fronting the Pawaa park for maintenance during the same time.
