Move over, McGarrett, you’re about to be upstaged by a boy band.
The Jonas Brothers not only plan to attend tonight’s Sunset on the Beach premiere of "Hawaii Five-0," they’re going to perform as well.
Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas say they may even walk the red carpet to greet fans of the CBS crime drama. (Note to "Five-0": If you think the villains you’ve faced are wild, you haven’t met the trio’s screaming teenage fans.)
The free concert, which will immediately follow the outdoor screening of the new season’s first episode, will be the first Hawaii appearance by the Jonas Brothers. The Grammy-nominated entertainers from New Jersey have toured the world since their 2006 debut album, "It’s About Time," and rocketed to stardom thanks to appearances on Disney albums, TV shows and movies. But they’re not sure why it took so long to get to the islands.

The list of stars expected to walk the red carpet at tonight’s Sunset on the Beach season premiere of “Hawaii Five-0” now includes Hawaii’s Mark Dacascos and guest star Chi McBride. They will join show regulars Alex O’Loughlin, Daniel Dae Kim and Michelle Borth at the free event at Queen’s Beach in Waikiki. Scott Caan and Grace Park, however, will be out of town.
A free concert by the Jonas Brothers will follow the episode screening.
The outdoor screening will be held a day before the network premiere as a mahalo to fans in Hawaii. The show will air on a new day and time this season: 8 p.m. Fridays on CBS.

"We’ve been asking ourselves the same thing," said Joe Jonas, the 24-year-old middle brother, during a phone interview from Toronto, where they were part of the We Day youth celebration. "We have been vacationing there for many years with our family and friends. It’s one of those places that when you are putting together a tour, it doesn’t come up."
But when youngest brother Nick Jonas was invited to appear on "Hawaii Five-0," concert discussions ensued.
"It was like killing two birds with one stone," he said. "And none of us are complaining. We get to be in Hawaii for a week."
Nick Jonas, who celebrated his 21st birthday in Las Vegas last week, will play a young computer hacker involved in a case the "Five-0" team is investigating on. The episode, which he worked on this week, will be the eighth of the season and should air sometime in November.
Acting is a way to show people he can do more than sing or play guitar, according to Jonas.
"And ‘Hawaii Five-0′ is a great show, and I am looking forward to being a part of it," he said. "It’s a great role. The whole episode is really exciting and very intense, as the show is most times."
For those who doubt the young star has left his squeaky-clean Disney image behind, consider his first feature film lead in the murder mystery "Careful What You Wish For," set for a 2014 release. Jonas stars as a young man having an affair with a married woman played by Australian actress Isabel Lucas. Gossip websites have been buzzing with comments about reported intimate scenes they share.
It’s a "sexual thriller" similar in tone to "Body Heat" and "Basic Instinct," Jonas said, referring to a pair of film noir standards.
"I think it will make people uncomfortable, but in a good way," he said. "I definitely was looking for roles that took me out of the life people had seen me in before. This movie was really intense, and I feel like it will be one of those movies that opens people’s eyes."
The Jonas Brothers have been a pop-music staple for the Disney Channel, which helped fuel album sales. They’ve sold more than 20 million albums worldwide. They starred in the Disney Channel movies "Camp Rock" in 2008 and "Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam" in 2010. They also starred in the Disney TV series "Jonas," which ran for two seasons.
The trio has been on tour for much of the last 12 months. The ambitious schedule marked an end to a three-year break the group took so each of the brothers could pursue individual projects. But it feels good to be back on stage making music, said Kevin Jonas, 25, star of the E! reality show "Married to Jonas" with wife Danielle.
"We really enjoy touring," he said. "Any time we can be on the road, we love it. This fall we are going back out on tour, and we were just on tour this summer. We just did a 26-city tour, and we’re going out to do a 19-city tour."
Their first Hawaii concert will be memorable but, at 30 to 40 minutes, much shorter than a typical tour performance, Kevin said. It will likely include songs from their upcoming album, "V," which is set for release sometime this fall.
"It will be special because it is acoustic," he said. "There won’t be a full big band, so you will have more of an intimate feel, which is a fun way to do our first concert there in Hawaii."
The beach venue places the stage just yards from the ocean, and the audience will be close. Joe Jonas promises he’ll get closer, though.
"I usually try to get as close as I can to the fans," he said. "Sometimes I jump into the audience and make them feel like they are a part of the concert as much as possible."
Given the fleeting nature of boy bands that grow passe as their maturing fans look for edgier fare, the Jonas Brothers have a found a surprising reality.
"I think our fans are growing with us," Kevin Jonas said. "It’s surprising to see that the girls who were 16 are now in their early to late 20s, just like us. And we are making music that is corresponding with what we are going through and what they are going through."
