The Hawaii soccer team struck first, but could not make a one-goal lead stand up in a 2-1 overtime loss at Cal State Fullerton in the Big West Conference opener for both teams today.

Freshman forward Kama Pascua found the net on an assist from Karli Look and Krystal Pascua in the 58th minute.

But the Titans (6-3-3, 1-0 BWC) struck back just three minutes later with an equalizer past goalkeeper Monk Berger, and UH could not find another go-ahead goal despite a 17-10 shot advantage in regulation.

CSUF’s Summer Chavez scored the golden goal from 30 yards out in the 93rd minute, dropping UH (5-5, 0-1 BWC) to 3-2 on the road this season.
