Radar showed heavy rains over Central Oahu and the Koolaus this afternoon.
The National Weather Service canceled a flood advisory for Molokai, Central Oahu and Southeast Oahu on Sunday as afternoon rains cleared.
The advisory was initially issued for Central Oahu and the Koolaus at 1:17 p.m., just after forecasters issued an advisory about the potential for funnel clouds forming over Oahu. It was expanded when rains spread to Southeastern Oahu.
On Molokai, radar showed a nearly stationary band of heavy rain just north of Kaunakakai and Kualapuu at 1:30 p.m.
In the 24-hour period ending at 5 p.m., nearly 2.3 inches of rain fell in upper Nuuanu; more than 2.1 inches fell in Manoa at the Lyon Arboretum; and .65 inches fell at the Palolo Fire Station.
Similar weather conditions prompted a flood advisory for a couple of hours Saturday afternoon for the Mililani area.
Mililani residents also reported seeing a funnel cloud at about 1:47 p.m. Saturday as a band of heavy rain moved over the area between Wahiawa and Mililani.
The National Weather Service said weak trade winds are causing afternoon clouds and showers to develop over leeward and interior sections of the islands.
A passing weather system is creating unstable atmospheric conditions and an increased chance of showers today.
The forecast for Honolulu calls for a 50 percent chance of rain today.

The light winds and Kona weather conditions are expected to continue through the beginning of the week.
