The video was co-directed by Mars with his longtime video collaborator Cameron Duddy. Viewers are advised the song contains references to drugs, alcohol and sex.
“Gorilla” marks the latest single and video from Mars’ second album, “Unorthodox Jukebox.” Previous hit singles from the album were “Locked Out Of Heaven,” “When I Was Your Man” and “Treasure.”
Mars and Duddy won an MTV Video Music Awards for “Best Male Video” for “Locked Out Of Heaven.”
Mars, a graduate of Roosevelt High School, and his eight-piece band, The Hooligans, are on a sold-out, 91-city “Moonshine Jungle World Tour,” with stops slated across Europe through mid-November.
