Pflueger car dealership assistant gets probation in tax fraud case

A federal judge sentenced car dealer Alan Pflueger’s executive assistant Julie Ann Kam to one year of probation this morning for tax fraud.

Kam pleaded guilty last year to failing to report as income money the car dealership paid for her corrective eye surgery and her car loan.

In addition to the probation, U.S. District Judge Leslie E. Kobayashi fined Kam $500 and ordered her to perform 50 hours of community service.

Kobayashi sentenced Pflueger last Friday to 15 months in prison for failing to report as income hundreds of thousands of dollars the dealership paid to cover his credit card and other personal expenses.
