Pedestrian accident victim identified as Aiea woman
The 63-year-old Aiea woman killed Wednesday when she was run over by a car near Pearlridge Center has been identified as Siu King Tang, the city Medical Examiner’s Office said.
Tang was standing on the sidewalk at Moanalua Road and Kaonohi Street when she was pinned under a car, police said.
Two vehicles were headed west on Moanalua Road when one, a Toyota Corolla, collided with a Ford Ranger truck.
The Corolla went onto the sidewalk, striking Tang. She was taken in critical condition to Pali Momi Medical Center where she died. The driver of the Toyota suffered minor injuries. He refused treatment.
The traffic death was Oahu’s 49th this year, compared with 48 at the same time a year ago.
Alaska man was driver killed in crash on Ko Olina offramp
The Alaska man who died Tuesday after crashing a truck into a coconut tree on the Ko Olina offramp has been identified by the city Medical Examiner’s Office as John Klein, 62, of Anchorage.
The cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries from the accident, medical examiners said.
Police said Klein may have fallen asleep or had a medical condition.
Klein was driving to Waianae with a truck full of cement tile when his vehicle drifted from the center lane to the right shoulder and hit a tree.
He was dead when paramedics arrived at the H-1 freeway offramp.
