Woman found in dumpster identified
The city Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the body of a woman found in a dumpster Monday morning in Waikiki as Janine Meyer, 51, of Honolulu.
Meyer’s body was found at 9:30 a.m. in the metal trash bin at the Hawaiian Colony apartments on Ala Moana Boulevard.
The Medical Examiner’s Office has deferred the cause and manner of death pending further investigation. The case has been classified by police as an unattended death.
Man accused of 11 years of sex assaults
Police are holding a 27-year-old Waipahu man for allegedly sexually assaulting a girl over an 11-year period starting when she was 6 years old.
The suspect was arrested at his home Monday morning on suspicion of three counts of first-degree sexual assault. No charges have been filed.
Police would only say that the victim, now 19, knows the suspect.
The alleged attacks began in 2000 when the suspect was 14 years old and continued until 2011, police said.
First-degree sexual assault is a class A felony that carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.
Arrest made in year-old assault case
A 31 year-old homeless man has been charged with assaulting another man last year.
Noah Hale was charged Sunday with second-degree assault after he was spotted by his 45-year-old victim at Ala Moana Center and called police.
Police said the alleged assault occurred on Oct. 18, 2012.
Hale’s bail was set at $11,000.
Suspect charged in Kapahulu robbery
A 28-year-old Mililani man has been charged with robbing another man in Kapahulu early Sunday morning.
According to police, Garid Chapman struck a 33-year-old man and took his property about 1:30 a.m. A witness called police, who located Chapman on Monsarrat Avenue and arrested him.
Chapman was charged Monday with second-degree robbery and second-degree assault. His aggregate bail was set at $30,000.
