TRY SOME THAI CLASSICS AND BANISH BAD LUCK
Try a variety of classic Thai dishes and learn to prepare them at the Loy Krathong Festival 2013 at Kapiolani Park on Saturday.
Loy Krathong is the festival of floating bowls, one of the most popular in Thailand. Bowls made of banana leaves are filled with food, flowers, incense, candles and coins. People make wishes as they send the bowls off into the water, and all bad luck is said to disappear with the bowl.
The festival, which also features Thai dance and martial arts, runs from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Call the Thai Buddhist Temple of Hawaii at 456-4176 or 384-9730.
