Seasiders still at No. 4 in Division II poll
Having a bye week did not affect Brigham Young-Hawaii, as the Seasiders remained at No. 4 in Monday’s AVCA NCAA Division II Coaches Top 25 poll.
BYU-Hawaii (23-1, 18-1 PacWest) puts its 16-match winning streak on the line Thursday against the only team that has found success against the Seasiders this season: Hawaii Pacific. The Sea Warriors (17-10, 11-8) won the Sept. 26 meeting in four sets at St. Andrew’s Priory gym.
Thursday’s regular-season finale is at 7:30 p.m. at Cannon Activities Center, where the Seasiders are 14-0 this year. BYUH has earned the PacWest’s automatic berth into the NCAA D-II championship tournament and will learn its postseason fate later this month.
There was some movement among the teams above the Seasiders, with Tampa (26-1) moving up a spot to No. 1. Minnesota Duluth (28-2) also moved up a spot after outlasting previous No. 1 Concordia-St. Paul (27-2) in five sets last week; the Golden Bears, six-time defending NCAA D-II champions, dropped to No. 3.
