Maui County launches fitness program for seniors

The Maui County Office on Aging will host an open house for the launch of its EnhanceFitness program in South Maui.

The open house is set for 12:15 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Maui Powerhouse Gym, 1279 S. Kihei Road. The public is welcome to pick up a registration packet and meet the instructors and other class participants.

EnhanceFitness classes are designed to meet the physical activity needs of adults of all fitness levels from unfit to active, according to a county news release.

The goals of EnhanceFitness include maintaining or improving cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, balance and flexibility; overall physical function; and lowering health care costs.
