Two films from South Korea are being released in Hawaii theaters in the next few weeks.
"Commitment," which was released in South Korea on Nov. 6, will open here Friday. The film stars Choi Seung Hyun, aka T.O.P, a member of the music group Big Bang. Choi plays a North Korean agent in South Korea looking to avenge his father’s murder and reunite with his younger sister.
The much anticipated sequel "Friend 2" will be released in Hawaii on Dec. 13. The film is a follow-up of the 2001 box-office hit that starred Jang Dong Gun.
Director Kwak Kyung Taek was in Hawaii in 2007 for his film "A Love," which starred Ju Jin Mo.
The two have gotten together again for "Friend 2," with Ju as one of the main characters.

"Madly in Love"

Today, 6:30 p.m.: Moon-do, in his desperation to stop Director Han, causes a tragic car accident. Both Director Han and Yoo-rim die. Yoo-rim’s mother becomes seriously ill from the shock, leaving Yoo-jung to deal with her grief alone. When Moon-do is questioned by the police, he cannot give them an alibi for the time of the accident. He asks Nan-cho to be his alibi, but she has a condition. Moon-do gets it all, and Eun-sook and her family leave the house.
Today, 7:45 p.m.: Ten years have passed. Moo-yeol comes back from studying abroad in New Zealand. Nan-cho sees Moo-yeol and Eun-sook on the way back from the airport. It makes her nervous. Sinsung’s board of directors is still causing trouble about Moon-do’s succession. They want to see Moo-yeol. Moon-do orders Moo-yeol found and decides to buy Chowon farm to build a monument for Chairman Yang. But Moo-yeol buys the farm first.

Monday, 7:45 p.m.: Song-hwa calls Bok-nyo to come and get Sang-cheol from her house since he’s gotten drunk and passed out. Han-gyul orders Bok-nyo to tell him why Song-hwa can’t be their mother.
Tuesday, 7:45 p.m.: Han-gyul and Woo-jae find out Su-hyuk is working at a bar. They ask Na-young to help them bring out Su-hyuk. Bok-hwa asks Song-hwa to find out about Jang Do-hyung, and tells her the history between Seo Ji-hoon and herself.

Wednesday, 7:45 p.m.: Chan-young rescues Eun-sang from a sticky situation and explains to her about the "caste" system at Jeguk High. Rachel is bothered by Tan, whose entire attention is on Eun-sang. Tan and Young-do face off.
Thursday, 7:45 p.m.: Tan gets the wrong idea when he sees Eun-sang and Young-do together. He warns her to stay away from Young-do. Eun-sang gets curious about the nature of Tan and Young-do’s relationship. Rachel goes to see Young-do when her mother tells her they’ll be taking a family portrait with Young-do and his father.
