OpenTable diners: Paia restaurant is second-best in U.S.
Mama’s Fish House in Paia, Maui, long a favorite of visitors and a destination restaurant for locals, is ranked No. 2 in the nation on the OpenTable.com list of the Top 100 Best Restaurants in America.
Another Maui restaurant, Leis Family Class Act Restaurant in Kahului, also made the list, but was presented on the alphabetical list of winners that did not appear in ranked order.
More than 5 million reviews of some 19,000 restaurants by users of the online reservations and review site were evaluated to compile the list, which is topped by St. Francis Winery & Vineyards in Santa Rosa, Calif.
Other restaurants in the top 10 include perennial list-makers such as The French Laundry in Yountville, Calif. and relative newcomer goosefoot in Chicago, Ill.
