Suspect faces multiple charges
Hawaii County police have charged a 58-year-old Keaau man with attempted first-degree murder and numerous other charges.
Police were called at 4:42 p.m. Thursday to a disturbance at the Aulii Street home of Joseph Feliciano, who, police said, was wielding two edged weapons when they arrived.
Feliciano, wanted for a separate assault Wednesday, allegedly threw a weapon at an officer, who avoided getting hit.
Police arrested Feliciano at 5:20 p.m. Thursday. He was treated for minor injuries at Hilo Medical Center and released.
Police charged Feliciano Friday with attempted first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree terroristic threatening, first-degree attempted assault on a police officer and resisting arrest.
Police also charged him with first-degree assault and abuse of a family or household member for allegedly hitting a 48-year-old woman in the face during a domestic argument Wednesday at their Keaau home.
The woman declined treatment, police said.
Feliciano’s bail was set at $558,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
