Big Isle boat ramp to close for repairs
The Department of Land and Natural Resources will close the Puako boat launch ramp on the Big Island for two days beginning Tuesday to remove a loading dock that collapsed.
Isemoto Contracting Co., Ltd. will use heavy machinery to remove the broken concrete loading dock that cracked in half because of the surf on Dec. 20.
The ramp will reopen Jan. 9, but there will be no loading dock available for boaters to use.
