Hawaii’s U.S. Attorney’s office collects $2.4M in 2013
The U.S. Attorney’s office in Hawaii says it collected more than $2.4 million in civil and criminal actions for the 2013 fiscal year.
U.S. Attorney Florence Nakakuni announced Thursday $1.5 million was collected in criminal actions and about $930,000 was collected in civil actions.
Attorney General Eric Holder says the U.S. Department of Justice collected about $8.1 billion in civil and criminal actions in the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30.
Nakakuni’s office touts recovering $450,000 from Wahiawa General Hospital to settle two lawsuits alleging improper billing. The hospital agreed to the settlement but didn’t admit liability.
