MorphoTrust USA has won a contract from Hawaii’s Department of Transportation to provide employee screening and badging services at  seven major airports in the state, including Honolulu International, Kona International, Hilo International, Kahului, Lanai, Molokai and Lihue.

All employees of an airport or airline with access to secure areas, including maintenance workers, baggage workers, and restaurant and retail employees, are required by the U.S. Transportation Security Administration to obtain a secure credential. By virtue of its agreement with the TSA, Billerica, Mass.-based MorphoTrust receives biometric and biographic information for airport employees, processes and validates the received information, then facilitates its transmission to the TSA for vetting and clearance.

“MorphoTrust provides essential services that streamline the screening and badging of employees, improving efficiency and convenience by cutting down on processing times and making our airports safer for travelers,” said Charles Carroll, senior vice president for identity services at MorphoTrust. “This is especially important in Hawaii, where well-staffed airports are essential for interisland, mainland and international travel.”
