Oahu drivers traveling in town on the H-1 freeway Saturday will encounter two ramp closures in the Ewa lanes, the Department of Transportation said.

The Ewa-bound Pali Highway offramp and Punchbowl on-ramp will be closed from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. in order to do trenching and remove large rocks, according to a DOT news release.

The work is part of the H-1 rehabilitation project to repave the freeway in town and complete other upgrades.

Pali Highway-bound drivers should instead exit at the Vineyard Boulevard off-ramp, then turn right onto Pali Highway. But the Kailua-bound Pali Highway will also be closed at Waiokanaka Street from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday for road work).

Drivers looking to get on the Ewa- bound H-1 freeway should use the on-ramp at north School Street, the DOT recommends.
